The FLDP develops high-potential MBA candidates within the Finance organization. FLDPs are placed in one of six of our leading business areas (Amazon Web Services, Consumer, Entertainment, Operations, Devices, or Central Finance). We accelerate their career by giving them a broad understanding of the business, helping them build a robust professional network, and preparing them to lead a team. Participants enter as a Finance Managers. As Finance Managers, they are the key finance partner to a business team. They build financial models and analyses to make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and have a global impact. FLDPs view problems as treasures, deliver new ideas and solutions, and dive deep to deliver results. They challenge the status quo, and accept that ideas and mechanisms may need to be tested daily. They help others understand finance and are the trusted business advisor. They employ every facet of data and communication so partners and leaders have up-to-date, reliable information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in finance or a related analytical field
- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
2025 FLDP intern start dates will be in May & June 2025. 2025 FLDP Interns who receive a full-time offer will have an assigned full-time start date of Summer 2026.

A day in the life
FLDP interns drive innovative financial strategies across a variety of Amazon businesses. This may include managing financial statements for a product or business area, controllership of financials, and investigating anomalies – all of which inform strategic roadmaps and drive high level business decisions. In order to deliver these outcomes, interns often must extract data from Amazon systems, conduct advanced statistical analysis, evaluate key performance indicators, and consult on ways to increase financial performance.
Throughout the summer interns will have exposure to senior level management, and the internship will culminate in a presentation of deliverables to the team.
About The Team
- All interns will be located at Amazon’s company headquarters in Seattle, WA.
- For returning Full Time offers: Role and team placement are based on business needs and as Amazon continues to grow and flex, we are looking for candidates who want to own, build and impact the customer experience rather than are tied to a specific role or team. Majority of Full Time FLDP roles will be in Seattle, WA, Arlington, VA, New York City, NY, or Los Angeles, CA.
- Internship start dates will be between May- June 2025 for a 12-week, consecutive internship.
Basic Qualifications
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
- Currently enrolled in an MBA or master’s degree program focused on human resources or related field with a graduation conferral date between December 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026
- 3+ years of relevant full-time industry or military experience, which occurred between the conferral date from your undergraduate program and prior to starting your MBA or master’s program
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, business or related field focused on analytics
- Curiosity to dig several layers deep into metrics, have an innate desire to understand key drivers and whether they are the correct or best metrics to measure/manage a business or process.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation.
- Ability to have difficult conversations in a way that leaves everyone still working well together.
- Have a desire to participate in change and appreciate a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $41.30/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $86.30/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
