Good Morning America has an opening for a Production Associate in the Field & Series Unit, the unit responsible for creating all of GMA’s taped stories (pieces/packages) throughout the show.
Responsibilities:
Candidates for this position should be on a journey to become great broadcast journalists, with a desire to work on all of GMA’s content, from Hard News to Creative Features. Strong writing skills, a rich knowledge of current events, a deep interest in visual storytelling, and stellar communication abilities are a must. This role – which consistently works nights and weekends as part of GMA’s 24/7 production operation – will support GMA producers in all aspects of taped story production: video & graphic support, logging, research, social media clearance, and much more. Production Associates should be self-starting problem solvers with a strong background in the skills needed for taped story production (writing, editing, shooting, interviewing). Production Associates will be called upon to self-edit video elements for the show and will also produce full pieces for the show.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of local market/network/cable news experience or an internship in production within broadcast television or digital media
- Stellar writing skills
- Editing or shooting experience
- Strong news & editorial judgment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in local market/network/cable broadcast television or digital media
- Strong background in Journalism or other writing field
- Experience with DV shooting and Avid Editing
Required Education:
- Bachelors’ or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $55,800- $74,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
