Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Early-Career Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. We are looking for someone with a foundation in backend technologies who is eager to apply their skills in a dynamic, AI-focused environment.This engineer will work on backend solutions in collaboration with our AI Platform team, which is a research-engineering focused team oriented around building next generation multi-agent applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with researchers and scientists to understand backend requirements
- Design, develop, and implement scalable backend systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to support AI-driven applications
- Develop RESTful APIs and services for internal and external consumption
- Optimize application performance, ensuring speed, security, and reliability
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing backend systems as necessary
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous integration processes
- Contribute to the documentation of backend systems and processes
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in backend development, cloud services, and AI technologies
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience, graduate degree preferred
- Experience: 1-2 years of professional or internship experience in backend development, with hands-on knowledge of server-side technologies
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and development
- Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS with some knowledge of Azure)
- Familiarity working with Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
- Self-driven with a growth mindset and ability to manage time effectively
Salary: 90k-110k
