Junior iOS Developer (Drone Industry)

We are building a talented remote team based in California to harness data from drone flights. AirData.com provides drone pilots and operators an online UAV fleet management platform. We are a small team headquartered in El Dorado Hills, California, serving customers around the world.
Drones are quickly becoming a critical part of infrastructure, solving problems safely and with fewer resources. AirData is the largest and fastest-growing fleet management platform, providing crash prevention information and live streaming for pilots and operators worldwide.
We are seeking a Junior iOS Developer with a strong background in Swift and Xcode to build cutting-edge applications. This position requires attention to detail in supporting multiple screen sizes across iPhones and iPads, and a passion for delivering user-friendly, well-designed interfaces. You'll work closely with our team, including receiving Figma design hand-offs or assets via Jira tickets from our designer.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain iOS applications with a focus on pixel-perfect design and user-friendly experiences
- Ensure support for multiple screen sizes and orientations (portrait/landscape) across iPhone and iPad devices
- Implement Figma designs or assets provided by our designer through Jira tickets, ensuring intuitive and visually appealing interfaces
- Optimize apps for performance, particularly for background tasks and threading
- Collaborate with team members to integrate features, APIs, and third-party libraries
- Ensure adherence to Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and App Store requirements
Who we're looking for:
- You have 3+ years of mobile app development experience using native languages, especially Swift
- You have expertise in iOS app development with Swift and Xcode
- You have experience supporting various screen sizes and orientations across iPhone and iPad devices
- You pay strong attention to detail in UI/UX, with a passion for creating pixel-perfect and user-friendly designs
- You are familiar with video and audio streaming frameworks
- You have experience managing source repositories with modulated architecture
- You know Apple’s HIG and App Store submission guidelines
- You are familiar with version control using Git
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with location-based apps and map integration
- Familiarity with drone manufacturer SDKs (e.g., DJI, Parrot) and managing flight logs
- Knowledge of video and audio streaming frameworks
- Experience with AirData products or in the drone industry or aerospace
- FAA Part 107 certification or similar aviation knowledge
- Ability to collaborate across platforms, with knowledge of Kotlin and Java
